The Commitment to Screen in Durban, South Africa

Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival7 Fluid Oz.’ award-winning short film, The Commitment, has been selected to screen at this year’s Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The DGLFF has not yet released its full schedule, but the festival will run from June 16 to June 30 at the KZNSA Gallery.

This festival marks the first time that a production by 7 Fluid Oz. has screened in Africa (or anywhere else in the Southern hemisphere), which makes this a particularly important event for the company.

7 Fluid Oz. would also like to thank the DGLFF for inviting the filmmakers to speak with audiences via Skype if no one from the film is able to fly over for the festival.

About the Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival

The DGLFF is the first city-based LGBTI film festival in South Africa. Now in its third year, the festival is continuing its mission to screen films that explore “human rights and issues of human sexuality.”1

In addition to encouraging a public dialogue about LGBTI issues, the Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival donates proceeds to the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts (KZNSA) and the KwaZulu-Natal Gay & Lesbian Tourism Association (KZNGALTA).
